English: Miss Joan Whitney, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Payne Whitney, was married at the quaint little Christ Church, Manhasset, Long Island. Her exquisite white satin wedding- gown, trimmed with point-lace, was in mediaeval style, with a low waist-line and an unusually long train. The small wedding was followed by a large reception at the Long Island estate of the bride’s parents
