English: THE QUARRY WAS WORKED FROM 1887 TO 1980 AND NOW ANOTHER SITE IS STILL BEING WORKED. THE SITE IS KNOWN AS THE “OLD HOLE” THE QUARRY WAS STARTED BY O.W. NORCROSS WHO DIED IN 1921. THE QUARRY WAS WORKED BY VARIOUS OTHER PERSONS BUT ALSO WAS SHUT DOWN FROM TIME TO TIME. STONE FROM THIS QUARRY FORMED THE PEDESTAL OF THE STATUE OF LIBERTY AND THE CORCORAN GALLERY IN WASHINGTON AMONG MANY OTHER SIGNIFICANT BUILDING
