English: Early U.S. Naval Aviation Observer Wings. Note: Between January 1927 and October 1929 the design of U.S. Naval Aviation Observer Wings was the same as Naval Aviator Wings except the observer wings were silver, not gold like the Naval Aviator. After that it was changed to wings on either side of an ‘O’ circumscribing an erect plain anchor (see www.history.navy.mil/avh-1910/APP20.PDF).
