Nederlands: Bondskanselier Angela Merkel ontvangt minister-president Mark Rutte in de Duitse grensplaats Kleef voor een overleg tussen afvaardigingen van de Duitse en Nederlandse regeringen. Het is de eerste maal dat de beide regeringen in deze vorm met elkaar spreken. De top illustreert de bijzonder hechte band tussen Nederland en Duitsland en heeft als doel het verder versterken van deze relatie.
Naast een bilateraal gesprek, spreken minister-president Rutte en bondskanselier Merkel samen met de aanwezige Nederlandse en Duitse bewindspersonen over een reeks onderwerpen, met als centrale thema duurzame groei. Er is onder meer gesproken over innovatie, duurzame energie en financiële duurzaamheid. Duitsland en Nederland hebben de ambitie om op deze terreinen samen een voortrekkersrol te spelen in de regio en in Europa. |
