Description
English: Imperial Welcome - On 9 October 1811, the French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821) arrived in Amsterdam, the empire's third city. A delegation of leading citizens met him as he entered the city at Oetewalerweg (now Linnaeusstraat). Riding his grey Arabian steed, Napoleon accepts the symbolic keys to the city.
