Summary
DescriptionNielsonPlaque.JPG |
English: Plaque on the Nielson Tower, Ayala Triangle Park, Makati City. The plaque translates: Built in 1937 on land owned by Ayala and Cía. Nielsen Tower served as the center management for the transit of passengers at Nielsen Air Base. It was used from 1937 to 1947. This airport was the first world-class, modern and commercial international airport in the Philippines in World War II, and on separate occasions, was used by the armed forces of Japan and the United States. In renovations, the Ayala Group of Companies retained the original pre-war architecture to serve as reminder to its leadership in the fields of transportation and communication. Today, this building is the location of the Philippine Heritage Library, and it serves to link the country in knowledge and relation. |
