Description
English: Oakwood Roman Fort The sheep beyond the dyke are within this fort of Flavian date, the ramparts of which are faintly visible. Charred timbers from the structure of the fort gateways were found insitu on excavation in 1952. A temporary marching camp lies nearby to the north of the fort.
