DescriptionOban railway station 2039098 30212de8.jpg
English: Oban Station.
View NE, to buffer-stops; ex-Caledonian terminus of line from Glasgow, via Stirling and Callander until 28/9/65, when the line between Callander and Crianlarich was closed following a landslide and trains have been diverted via the West Highland Line south of there. But this is 1948 - on a wet day, of course - and a Stanier Class 5 4-6-0 is leaving on an express to Glasgow via Callander. The station is beside the harbour and a steamer - for Mull and many other Western Isles destinations, can be glimpsed.
