DescriptionOld Higher Lighthouse, Portland Bill - geograph.org.uk - 527423.jpg
English: Old Higher Lighthouse, Portland Bill This was the original lighthouse of the three still standing. This one was built in 1716, and remained in use until 1906, when the new red and white lighthouse was opened closer to the sea at The Bill. This light has been in private ownership since that time, and was completely restored during the 1980s.
