Capture of the Inga Dams, which supply power to most of western Congo, August 13 1998. 4. Rwandan attempts to capture Kasangulu are stopped twice by Zimbabwean Air Force and Commando units, once on the 11th, and once on the 24th, the second engagement destroying most of the Rwandan's armor. 5. Battle for N'Djili Airport, base of the Zimbabwean forces in the DRC, August 25-30th 6. Rwandan retreat to Maquela do Zombo in Angola, troops would remain until finally evacuated December 24th, 1998. |
