English: "This December, 1975 photograph depicted an over crowded ferry as it powered itself along Southern Bangladesh’s Meghna River. PHIL images 1191, 3258, 5664, and 12290 through 12367, were supplied by Dr. Michael Schwartz, and capture the epidemiologic-related activities undertaken by healthcare providers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and local Bangladeshi healthcare workers, during their successful attempt to eradicate smallpox."
