Arctostaphylos andersonii—Anderson's manzanita. Included in the CNPS Inventory of Rare and Endangered Plants on list 1B.2 (rare, threatened, or endangered in CA and elsewhere). A. andersonii is also listed by the State of California as S2 and IUCN Red List as G2. Found in the Santa Cruz Mountains of Santa Cruz and Santa Clara Counties. The plant was named after Charles Lewis Anderson, MD, a physician and plant collector residing in Santa Cruz from 1864 to 1910 (his death).
