Description
English: The surface of Mercury including western Kuiper quadrangle and eastern Beethoven quadrangle. Craters shown include Polygnotus, Thakur, Motonobu, and Tansen (within Kuiper) and Boethius and Caruso (in Beethoven). North is at top. Approximate color representation combining three images acquired by MESSENGER Wide Angle Camera (EW0211153567I, EW0211153571F, EW0211153587G) with I (996.2 nm), G (748.7 nm), and F (433.2 nm) filters. Combined in GIMP software as RGB (Red-Green-Blue).
