English: This images shows the Popotosa Formation at one of its reference sections, at Canoncito de las Cabras, New Mexico. The Popotosa Formation is the oldest formation of the Santa Fe Group in the southern Albuquerque Basin, and represents sediments deposited in a closed basin of the early Rio Grande Rift.
