A iniciativa reforça a importância de falar sobre igualdade racial, inclusão e diversidade nos EUA e em todo o mundo neste mês de fevereiro.
O “Vidas Negras Importam” (Black Lives Matter) começou com uma hashtag, e ganhou significado mais amplo e internacional. Esta foto foi tirada no Consulado Geral dos EUA em Porto Alegre English: As part of the celebrations of African American History Month and also the birthday of Frederick Douglas – author, politician and activist in the US anti-slavery movement, the US Embassy and Consulates in Brazil raised the "Black Lives Matter" flag today (14). The initiative reinforces the importance of talking about racial equality, inclusion and diversity in the US and around the world this February. “Black Lives Matter” started as a hashtag and has gained a broader and more international meaning.
