The Library of Congress title is incorrect, the location Eagleville, Modoc County, California, not Eagleville, Nevada. The caption on the image says "Posse leaving Eagleville in snowstorm, Feb. 11" and the photo is credited to "G.L. Matthews, Cedarville." Cedarville, California is just north of Eagleville in Modoc County. The posse was departing after the deaths of four men.
