Description
English: Post-Medieval gold momento mori ring; the bezel in the form of an incurved hexagon containing in the centre a white enamel skull; enamel perfect. Surrounded by the inscription DIE TO LIVE and foliate motifs in the corner of the hexagon, enamelled black, at the top of the hexagon is a double cross. Band of the ring is a thin hoop with scrolled shoulders. traces of white enamel remain on the shoulders and blue and green enamel on the scrolls. The hoop slightly squashed but this is a fine example of this type of ring.
