DescriptionPowerline jumble near Winterbourne Steepleton - geograph.org.uk - 1760868.jpg
English: Powerline jumble near Winterbourne Steepleton The powerline comes east past Winterbourne Abbas, and splits into three separate lines that head over the Ridgeway near Friar Waddon and on to the transformer station in Chickerell near Weymouth.
A contrast to these modern edifices are the strip lynchets in the pasture field below the nearest pylon, they are likely to be medieval or even earlier, when ploughing was powered by oxen. On the ridge of Bronkham Hill can be seen the outline of the many tumulii that run along it.
