Forma de la energía libre en el estado superconductor con respecto al estado normal, dependiendo de la pseudofunción de onda (o parámetro de orden) empleada en la teoría Ginzburg-Landau (tomando fs - fn = α|Ψ|2 + ½β|Ψ|4, con el parámetro β siempre positivo) según si se cumple α>0 (curva roja) o bien α<0 (curva negra). Obsérvese que el caso α<0 es el más interesante, dado que en este caso hay un rango de Ψ para el cual la energía libre del estado superconductor es inferior a la del estado normal. Cuando α<0 tenemos que el mínimo se da en |Ψ|2 = |Ψ∞|2 = -α/β |
