Description

Silver goblets used by the Doolittle Raiders, on display at Wright-Patterson Air Force Museum, in Dayton, Ohio. The upside-down goblets represent those members of the raid who have passed on.

I previously photographed this living exhibit on June 23, 2007, about six years prior. A few goblets have been turned over in that time, and the consumed Hennessy has been replaced with a different and also very special cognac.

The angle is about the same and is chosen simply to minimize reflections. The area was less crowded so I was able to step back a bit and still get a clear shot, so more goblets are visible.

There is/was very little light on this exhibit (and indeed, the whole museum), so I apologize for the lack of clarity.

(My 2007 image is at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Goblets_from_Doolittle_Raid.jpg for as long as that lasts.)
