English: Ralph Johnson Mitchell (September 25, 1891 - May 31, 1970) was an highly decorated Officer of the United States Marine Corps with the rank of Lieutenant General. He is most noted for his service as Director of Marine Corps Aviation during the years 1939-1943 and Commanding officer of the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing during World War II.
