On May 6 1927 the unveiling ceremony at Ramleh War Graves Cemetery took place. Ramleh is based in modern day Israel. On the morning of 6 May 1927 the ground was consecrated before the unveiling ceremony by the Reverend Rennis MacInnes D.D., Anglican Bishop of Jerusalem in front of the Great War Stone with F.M. [Field Marshal] Herbert Plumer, [1st Viscount Plumer] and onlookers. The majority of the graves at the site are of British soldiers, but there are 94 New Zealand graves from WW1 and WW2.
