Description
English: This painting demonstrates the extensive influence of Leonardo da Vinci. For example, the Child in the painting appears to be derived directly from Leonardo's Madonna of the Carnation (1478-80) (Munich, Alte Pinakothek). Even the pyramidal structure is reflective of the work of Leonardo and other artists of his generation. The painting is attributed to a follower of the artist Ridolfo Ghirlandaio (1483-1561). For more information on this painting see Federico Zeri's 1976 catalogue, number 209, pp. 322-323.
