Description
English: Robert Cavelier de LaSalle Monument, Lincoln Park, Chicago, Illinois. Artist: Count Jacques de la Laing (1858–1917) . It was cast in Belgium and shipped to Chicago in three parts. The monument was unveiled West Stockton Drive in Lincoln on October 12, 1889, but became a traffic impediment. It was moved to North Clark Street in the mid-1920s, and to its present location in the 1990s.
