Español: Esta obra, titulada Retrato de un médico, podría representar posiblemente, según algunos autores, al catedrático Luis Mercado o al doctor Rodrigo de la Fuente, que según Miguel de Cervantes era el médico más famoso de Toledo. Según otros autores podría tratarse del humanista Gómez Pereira, aunque la mayoría se decantan más por el doctor Rodrigo de la Fuente). En todo caso se reconoce que es un médico por el anillo que lleva, indicativo de su profesión, y porque posa su mano sobre un libro, cosa común en los médicos españoles del siglo XVI.
