English: Club Home's Directing Head Advisor, counselor and friend to Negro women and girls, travelers passing through this city to all points along the Atlantic Coast, Mrs. Ruth L. Bennett, superintendent of the club-home which bears her name in this city, is one of the most widely-known Negro women in America due to her activities in state and national women's clubs. The Ruth L. Bennett Improvement Club, at Second and Reaney streets, has housed more than 4,000 Negro women and girls since its establishment at the present location.
