English: Steam train and electric tramcar on Ryde Pier.
View southward, towards Ryde Esplanade: ex-Isle of Wight Central and IoW Railways lines from Cowes/Newport and Ventnor, tramway from Esplanade, to Ryde Pier Head. On the left is the 13.40 from Ventnor with ex-LSW Adams class O2 0-4-4T No. W17 'Seaview' (built as No. 208 in 11/1891, transferred to IoW as No. W17 in 5/30, withdrawn 12/66). On the right is petrol-driven tramcar returning to the Esplanade. The steam line was electrified in 1967, with a service, to Shanklin only, provided by trains from the London Underground.
