English: Sony NT-2 Digital Micro Recorder, introduced in 1996, front and back views. This recorder used tiny, stamp-sized tape cassettes and employed helical-scan technology to record up to 120 minutes of stereo sound with a bandwidth of 32 kHz. Having a real-time clock, it recorded a time stamp with the digital signal, thus making it useful for journalists, police and legal work. It used one size "AA" cell for primary power and one "CR-1220" lithium or alkaline coin cell to power the real-time clock continuously. The Sony NT-2 was the successor to the Sony NT-1, introduced in 1992.
