George Washington Olvany (1876-1952)
He was the deputy New York City Fire Commissioner, and leader of Tammany Hall.[1] He resigned from Tammany Hall in 1929.[2]
Samuel Becket Boyd II (1865-1929)
He was born on March 20, 1865 in Abingdon, Virginia to Samuel Becket Boyd I (1828-1890) and Isabella Reed (1831-1907).[3][4] He married Julia Harrison (1881-1957) around 1852. He joined the fire department in 1900.[3] He died on March 29, 1929 of a heart attack in Knoxville, Tennessee after a fire while in route to the hospital.[3] He was buried in the Old Gray Cemetery in Knoxville, Tennessee.
George Oscar Luce (1876-1922)
George received his basic education in the Ilion schools, where he excelled in tool making. This landed him a job at the Remington Arms Company where he worked at this trade. His father had opened and operated a wholesale liquor establlishment,and at the time of his father's passing he gave up his job at Remington to take over the business, as the manager. He held this position until 1918 when he became the elected fire chief of Ilion. He had always been interested and involved in fire fighting. While at Remington he was the chief of the fire brigade. He would remain with the fire department the rest of his life, belonging to numerous fire associations, such as the New York State Fire Chief's Association and the International Fire Chief's Association. He was active in the Catholic church, the Elks #1444 and Nikomas Tribe of the Improved Order of Red Men at Ilion.
Henry Clemons Bunker (1856-1938)
He was the fire chief of Cincinnati, Ohio from 1912 to 1916.
