DescriptionSelby station geograph-3852727-by-Ben-Brooksbank.jpg
English: Selby station, 1992.
View northward, towards Hull - only, a former ex-NER major junction. (Cf. SE6132 : Selby Station, with Up freight train). Until 9/54 when the line to Market Weighton and Driffield closed, 6/64 when the branch to Goole closed (not to mention the Cawood branch closed in 1/30), since 10/83, when the Selby Deviation on the East Coast Main Line was opened, Selby station completely lost its importance as a junction. Nowadays it is only on the Leeds - Hull route.
