English: Shakenhurst Hall The large country house is situated about one and a quarter miles to the west of Bayton. Pevsner describes the house as follows: 'The front is dated 1798. It is of red brick, two and a half storeys high. Two canted bay windows and a three-bay centre between. Ionic porch with broken pediment. The back of the house seems early c17.'
