The Head of the Afghan National Army was today met by General Sir David Richards, Chief of the Defence Staff as he arrived in London for a three day visit with senior military commanders. General Sher Mohammad Karimi, Chief of the Army Staff, Afghanistan was received by a Guard of Honour formed by 1st Battalion Welsh Guards, and the Band of the Scots Guards at Horse Guards Parade this morning. Over the next two days he will meet with his opposite numbers in the Ministry of Defence to discuss ISAF operations in Afghanistan and the development of the Afghan National Army.
