The full front view of the Gaganachukki Falls at Shivanasamudram. The water cascade along the side is not visible in this frame. Most mistake this falls as having both Gaganachukki (western cascade) and Barachukki (eastern cascade), whereas it is not true. This is the site of Asia's first Hydel Power plant and the electricity generated here was used to power the Kolar Gold Fields. Kolar, therefore, became the first town in Asia to receive electricity.
