English: Skibo Castle This vast pile was Andrew Carnegie's Scottish home. Born the son of a weaver at Dunfermline in 1835 he emigrated with his family to the United States and made his fortune in the steel industry. Many people today have cause to be grateful for the financial help from the Carnegie Trusts he founded .Also the many public works and libraries he financed throughout Scotland. Presently Skibo is an exclusive hideaway hotel and sports complex for the ultra rich, made famous as the place where Madonna & Guy Ritchie were married.
