English: This chart shows the different cabinet seats by party in the Apartheid-era South African government after the election of 1989. Light blue represents the moderate Democratic Party, which did not nominate a single presidential candidate. Orange represents the right-wing Nasionale Party, led by President F.W. de Klerk, the largest of the three and in power since 1948. Yellow represents the far-right Konserwatiewe Party, led by Andries Treurnicht, formed in opposition to the recent reforms. This was the last election under the Apartheid system.
