English: South Australian mallee country in winter. In this season the cereal-growing farmland takes on a bright green appearance that contrasts with the lion-coloured appearance of the grassland for much of the remainder of the year. The viewpoint, from The Overland train roughly parallelling the Dukes Highway in the southern part of the Murray Mallee, is more elevated than from the road and better shows the topography of sandhills and gentle undulating sandy rises interspersed by flat areas. |
