Summary

Description
English: St Brides. According to the inscription on the nearby trig point 257094 the farmhouse appears to be converted from the nave of a Norman chapel. St Bride, harassed by a persistent suitor, is said to have plucked out her own eyes, later restoring her sight with water from a spring. There was a spring just east of the farm, which may explain the presence of the chapel here. The farm buildings have now been converted into a number of separate residences.
