Description
English: St Ethelbert's church. St Ethelbert was King of the East Angles and there are believed to have been sixteen medieval churches dedicated to him, most of these in East Anglia. The church of St Ethelbert in Larling > 1709792 stands on its own on the edge of a woodland and has no electricity. Its chancel dates from the 13th century, aisles were added in the 14th and the tower is 15th century. The south porch covers a fine Norman doorway > 1709779 and the simple 12th century tub font > 1709788 is Norman also but all other interior was extensively restored or replaced in Victorian times.
