DescriptionSt Jason and Sosipater church, Kerkyra Corfu (24967924663).jpg
The church was constructed around 1,000 A.D, which makes it the oldest church in Corfu Town and a rare Byzantine monument. It is dedicated to two local saints, Saint Jason and Saint Sosipater, two disciplines of Apostle Paul, who spread Christianity on the island in 70 A.D. It is said that the tombs of the two saints are located on the right and the left of the holy gate. The style of the church is Paleo-christian but it has some special features. Parts of the ancient town of Paleopolis, in a walking distance from the church, were used for its construction.
