DescriptionSt Martin's School, Church Lane, Brighouse - geograph.org.uk - 150710.jpg
English: St Martin's School, Church Lane, Brighouse This started as a National School c.1834, and within 25 years there was a problem of overcrowding and money was raised to build extensions, completed by 1863. There were probably further extensions later on; there are far more buildings than can be shown on one photograph. The two-storey former schoolmaster's house of 1861 is on the left of the photo. The school was changed to a Senior School in 1932, and it later became a Secondary Modern School until closed in 1969. It is now a Further Education Centre.
