Description

Bier house or watch house of 1828, in churchyard of St Peter's Church, w:Hartshead, Kirklees, West Yorkshire, England. The bier house was later used as a school room. The bier house is listed Grade II here.

The church has a 12th century chancel arch, south door and west tower. The rest is the result of heavy renovation in Neo Gothic and Arts and Crafts style by William Swinden Barber in 1881. There is further information about the church here.
