A stray cat showed up at our neighbors house two days ago. We brought her in and fed her (she was very eager to eat) but Gillie was less than enthusiastic. So we took some food and put her out in the greenhouse and closed it up for the night. I went out in the morning to put some food out and she was not there. Don't know how she got out, but she managed.

So I closed up the greenhouse and opened it back up when Gillie went back in the house. The food was still there in the evening, but gone at 9 pm.

So we let Gillie out around 7:30 this morning into the snow. He sat under the porch watching the birds most of the time. Around 11:30 I let him in and started to put his lunch out. As I was putting some wet food in a dish I noticed the cat on our porch, so I opened the door. At first she started to run, but then she saw the food dish and came toward it. I just pulled it into the house and she followed, so I shut the door.

Gillie sat there watching, growling, hissing, etc., so he was locked in the den for a while.

The cat ate all the food I was going to put out for Gillie and still wanted more, so she started in on the dry food.

Eventually she went down to the basement and I managed to close off a section with her in it (and a litter box and some water) so we can let Gillie out of the den (and so I can use the den).
