Temple Beth Elohim took it's name from Kahol Kodesh Beth Elohim (KKBE) in Charleston, SC is down the street from Beth Elohim cemetery, a burial place for Portuguese Jews including Abraham Cohen, the first Portuguese Jew in Georgetown, SC
