English: The Goth. The Prestoungrange Gothenburg. I know pubs get relegated to the supporting cast on here, but this is quite important in the social history of Scotland, especially mining.
The Gothenburgs were pubs based on a Swedish model, that acted as social centres for mining communities and encouraged sensible drinking. There are a few left and this one dating from 1909 is a beauty. Worth a visit for the art nouveau interior, then the lovely beer brewed round the back, bringing back the Fowlers brand to Prestonpans.
