Description
English: This is a printed fifth edition book: "The Shipwreck, A Poem. By William Falconer, a Sailor." The epic poem describes the voyage of sailor WIlliam Falconer, the poet, from a port at Alexandria to Venice. The ship met a violent storm and crashed near Cape Colonne in Greece, after being veered off course during the storm. The first edition was originally published in 1762. By the time of the fifth edition, William Falconer had added 1000 more words. (All of this information is directly from the "Life of the Author" section of the printed book.)
