This print illustrates one of the most famous stories in Japanes folklore Benkei is a warrior-monk who has been instructed by the famous swordsmith Kokaji Munenabu that he must collect1000 swords to forge a armour for himself, Benkei has gathered all but one of the sword when he sees 18 years old Minamoto Yoshitsune Benkei anticipates his victory but Minamoto s jumping powers and agility secure his victory over Benkei.
