This is an illustration of an oxen-driven grinding mill from the encyclopedia Tiangong Kaiwu, published in 1637 by the Ming Dynasty encyclopedist Song Yingxing (1587-1666). This illustration can be found on page 98 of E-tu Zen Sun and Shiou-Chuan Sun's English translation of the Tiangong Kaiwu (Pennsylvania State University Press, 1966).
