Original file (1,200 × 1,200 pixels, file size: 51 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

Summary

Description
English: This image is an examle of a true Crescent vs commonly illustrated Crescent. The left is obvious from the right, in that a true crescent has a light/dark border which, projected onto a plane othro-normal to the viewer's line-of-sight, follows an elipse. The common, or incorrect, crescent is an off-center smaller body eclipsing, or occulting, a larger one in the background.
