This is the ex- USS Fierce shortly before being converted into a twin engine Tug, Seaborn II. Built by Nashville Bridge Co., Nashville, TN as a minesweeper and Commissioned as Fierce AM-97 in Oct of 1942 and then being reclassified as a Submarine Chaser PC-1601 1n 1944. she was Struck from the Naval Register 8 January 1946 and transferred to the Maritime Commission for disposal 15 June 1948 and later Sold to John K. Seaborn, and was converted into a twin engine Tug and named Seaborn II by the Fulton Shipyard in Antioch, California. This photo is from a private Album and dates to the early 1950s ( their appears to be a series of photos taken at this time and can be seen online )
