Description
English: Ugadi or Yugadi (Yuga (age) + adi (start)) is the New Year of native Telugu speakers. Ugadi Pacchadi is made on this day and consumed by all the members of household and offered to the guests who come in to wish new year. It is made of new jaggery, raw mango pieces, coconut, neem flowers and new tamarind which reflect various tastes of life. Also shown in picture is Pulihora (tamarind rice) which is a savoury rice made in South Indian households. It is generally served as prasadam in many temples.
